This book is a must read for anybody considering going down the route of investing their money into property to let out in the future. A lot of what was detailed in the book had not even struck me as something that should be thought about until I read it.
The author details the improtance of keeping an eye on the market and reviewing the supply and demand chain. I now understand how vitally important this actually is.
This book is well worth a read for anybody that will benefit greatly from the knowledge that the author has on this particular subject.

While book has some useful information, it is very basic and not worth the price when compared with a book such as "Successful property letting" by David Lawrenson which covers the same ground and much more. I bought it because I thought it would have specific insights into what has changed in property investing since the economic downturn (given the title), but there was very little on this. Calling the book a 'manual' is misleading- it is barely an introduction to the subject. If you're looking for a basic introduction "Property Investment for Beginners" by Rob Dix is a much better written and more useful buy.

My main complaint about this book is it has an absolutely appalling number of typographical, grammatical and other errors. I can't understand why the author has gone to the trouble of writing a book and having it professionally printed (it appears to be self-published?) without having it proofread! Additionally, there is no information about the author - who is he and what are his credentials? Why should I be taking investment advice from him?

We spend half our time in the US and the rest in the UK, and let whichever property we are not in for six months at a stretch. Whilst considering purchasing more property in each locale for rental purposes, I came across this wonderful guide- I wish we had found this long ago, as a lot of things were learned simply by trial and error. This book, concise and well-written, offers practical, real-world advice for those interested in acquiring buy-to-let properties. Whether you're an old hand at buy-to-let investing or just considering taking the plunge, this book will give you much needed information to assure your success. Five stars.
