This contains only rudimentary information.
Detailed information on practical matters was missing for many aspects of buying to let, eg insurance - only advice offered is to contact your solicitor or insurance adviser.I obtained a FREE booklet from the Dept of the Deputy prime Minister that contained much of the information in this book.

Very readable and informative. Covered all areas and even included a chapter on "Letting in Scotland", which was the main reason I bought this one as many similar books do not cover this topic at all. You can even contact the author directly for further information on some topics!

I found this book accessible and informative as a first point of reference for a potential novice landlord. Whilst some of the information may be a little sketchy, for example that concerning calculating the financial viability of buying-to-let, the book does contain a readable overview of the main stages involved in the process.
