Product Description

The Business of Dentistry `cuts to the chase'.

1. It captures and shares the steps it takes to create a successful dental business and walks you through every step

2. You'll know how you can create a happier, wealthier life as you run a more purposeful and a more profitable dental business.

3. Put simply....it provides a route-map for you to follow so you run a stronger, more profitable dental business, and improve your life as well

Yes, your practice is unique. And yet the challenges of running a dental business remain universal for dentists.

What works for one dental business can and does work for another - Rob Walsh proves this in the many business `board meetings' he attends with dental teams every year (almost 150 in the last 3 years alone). You win as Rob shares his experiences and insights. You get to see and hear what works and what doesn't with dentists around the UK.

From the Author

It is clear that many dentists struggle to find the time to step away from their businesses. They are tied to them on a daily basis. As a result their quality of life suffers. Their families suffer. And they rarely get the rewards they deserve.

I have written this book in order to provide a route-map for dentists to follow so they run a stronger, more profitable dental business, and improve their lives in the process.

I have worked with dentists every week since 2001 in my capacity as Managing Director of Clear Vision Accountancy Group Limited, acting as their accountant, business adviser and mentor.

Every dental practice is unique and yet the challenges of running a dental business remain universal for dentists.

I am happy to share share my experiences and insights gathered as I have worked with dentists and their team over the last 10 years.

What is clear to me is that the structured business development process I reveal in 'The Business of Dentistry' works. It is based on what I have witnessed to work for dentists across the UK. Everything you read in The Business of Dentistry are proven examples of real-life actions already taken by dentists to create successful dental businesses. Real life actions you can replicate. Real life SUCCESS you can replicate too.

This is a very succinct (but to the point) book. Walsh has provided the reader with a mass of checklists and thoughts as well as clear strategies and processes that can be applied.

I am not sure if the busy dental practice can apply everything that Walsh suggests but that is because the book probably contains too many nuggets is that possible?

As author of Kick-Start Your Business: 100 Days to a Leaner, Fitter Organisation (Virgin Business Guides) and Bright Marketing for Small Business (Startups) I am full of respect for Walsh's focus on a single industry. When writing my new/forthcoming book, Grow Your Service Firm, I debated how tight to niche down to specific industries. Where I went general (all service firms) Walsh has successfully gone specific (dentists). Well Done!

A 'must read ' for practice principals and their managers and for anyone thinking of becoming either !
Associates thinking of having their own practice should read this FIRST and then decide if they really want start their own practice.
This book is a manual of how to do it, but in your own style.
It is crystal clear with short chapters.
Excellent appendix.
You can read it easily in a morning.
Putting it all into place and constantly refining it will be the cornerstone of your practice success.
Read, Implement and Succeed!

Rob
I would like to congratulate you on the publication of your recent book `The Business of Dentistry''.
My first impression was that the style is so recognisable. It is written exactly as you speak and that is why it is so effective. Straight to the point and deliberate in every sentence!
You will be aware that a number of management reference texts have been written by dentists and tend to include the minutiae of NHS versus private practice. Your approach is sound in that it deals with the business experience as a route to profit. The book is so comprehensive that all practitioners should be able to see instant advantage by implementing the challenges you set throughout the book.
I have but one concern. You have been so generous with the knowledge and illuminating a path to success that you prescribe that you may have shot yourself in the foot! Have you given too much information away?
I commend you for an excellent read and I for one will continue to support your efforts to turn the dental industry into a business that is dynamic and viable. I recommend your book unreservedly.
