Book Description

When Mitchell Symons wrote his extraordinary bestsellers This Book, That Book and The Other Book - all neatly combined in one sensational volume, The Ultimate Loo Book - he was judged by many to be the King of Trivia. Now, inThe Bumper Book for the Loo, this supremo of weird and wonderful, astonishing and inexplicable facts, figures, stats and stories returns with a super selection of trivialistic treats - each one more remarkable and, yes, even more trivial than anything he's compiled before.

For example, did you know that...

·The first alarm clock could only ring at 4 a.m...

·There was once an internet rumour that Belgium doesn't exist...

·In 1830, King Louis XIX ruled France for just 15 minutes...

·All mammals have jaws but only humans have chins...

·Peru has more pyramids than Egypt...

Packed to the rafters with all manner of useful and useless information, lists of the biggest, the smallest, the best and the worst, The Bumper Book for the Loo is a hilarious compendium of endless delights - and a hugely entertaining, unputdownable feat of nonsense!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Facts 10 Nov. 2012
By Gareth Wilson - Falcata Times Blog TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
There are books you like to read on the road, there a story's that you love to read before bed, but when you're caught short and a little preoccupied, there are times when you want a book to distract you whilst you go about your business within the bathroom. This is where the new Mitchell Symon's books comes to hand quite well. (No not to use as Loo Roll.)

It's full of weird and unusual facts, has some fun illustrations and when you add the way that these weird little bits of information stick in your brain will allow you to be the toast of the mundane at any celebration you attend. All in a good bit of fun for all to read and a wonderful way to pass the time. Great stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best. 23 Nov. 2014
By Glenn Cook HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
I'm a sucker for this type of book and I have read loads but this is one of the best.

A confession?
Like quite a few men of my age and from the old working class we used to read in the toilet.

This was of course after we had moved from our outside toilet, no bathroom, 'Sham Four' houses into either a prefab or another council house if you were lucky with an inside and warm loo.
It was the only place you would not get disturbed and you were free of the constant television on in the background, the loud washing machine etc.

Old habits die hard.

This is a great book for dipping in and out of.
You can just pick it up and dive in everywhere.

The headings and subjects fascinate me from the ordeer that the Beatles recorded the tracks on Segt. Peppers (along with a list of the people depicted on the cover), to German words commonly used in everyday English language, unusual deaths, pigs. crocodiles, food, cinema snacks and.... well I think you have got the picture?
In its mammoth 719 pages not an inch of space is wasted.
Remarkably thick and cheap to buy second hand this is THE book for the loo par excelance.

THis is the follow-up to the equally brilliant Ultimate Loo Book. Just one question: how does the Ultimate Book come out BEFORE the Bumper book?
