The only reason I give this album 3 and not 5 stars, is not for the quality and integrity of Och's work, (that is here in abundance), it is that I've been spoiled, and I like the later stuff more, with fuller productions and orchestrations etc. But once again, here is Phil the 'journeyman' song writer at his best. He has served his apprenticeship, -travelling the highways and working mens' halls, and protest camps, singing passionately in the best 'Guthrie' tradition, now he settles down to make an album that displays all of his talent for taking contemporary issues, and crafting them into songs that are as skillful as any song can be. If you like 'folk' and want to hear more of what Phil could produce, add this album to your collection.
