Format:Audio CD
This CD provides a very useful introduction to the music of Hubert Parry, who since the 2011 Royal Wedding and HRH Prince Charles' BBC documentary, is attracting more attention.

There are no samples of his orchestral works here, but some of the more famous choral works notably I was Glad and Blessed Pair of Sirens. The disc is bulked out with some songs with Robert Tear and Phillip Ledger and the final track is Jerusalem.

A good introduction but by no means a 'best-of' issue.

This CD demonstrates the favour Parry's music has found with so many, especially when a touch of majesty (and pomp and circumstance)is required.
