1.0 out of 5 stars Excuse me ... Wales! 21 Nov 2008
Format:Paperback
Nothing in here about the Welsh Kings so should be retitled English and Scottish Monarchy for Dummies. Seeing as the Welsh and Cornish are the real Britons the use of the world British in this title does grind. Did an ignorant dummy write this book?

5.0 out of 5 stars King by King 29 May 2009
By Booklover - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Excellent start for anyone who may be interested in starting to try to understand the Monarchy in the U.K. Giving overviews of each ruler along with the "side notes" reminders is a great way to learn about the ideas and the time frame of what life was like durning each ruler.
You don't have to sit through 400 pages about each ruler or have to disect each King or Queen's greatest battles to understand who they were.

Dummies finally have hit every area with their books. I'm glad someone thought to include the British Monarchy .

By Casey L. Hardin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I enjoy this book very much. It is a fast read and great for reference material. It has lots of tidbits that you don't usually pick-up in other books. Great book for Dummies or people that are interested in English history and day-to-day facts on the English castle dwellers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gift for my daughter 2 Aug 2010
By Carol J. Schweitzer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
My daughter and I both like to read British novels. She likes the Regency era and I like the British cozies. We both like to read historical fiction and have trouble keeping up with the different monarchs with similar names. This book will be very helpful keeping it all straight.

5.0 out of 5 stars concise history 8 Feb 2013
By Bernard Peters - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I love this book. It covers a lot of territory and makes British history much more interesting by picking out the important and pertinent points but doing so in such as way that you are not lost in the details...derailed by the details. It makes a good skeleton to all the history books, novels and more that I have been reading and places them in order. It's also written in an easy to read modern style. This was the first dummy book I had ever read and now I am wondering about all the other dummy books that I have ignored up till now. Great book
