I love it! The music (sometimes I actually use this song as a "wake up" alarm sound), the lyrics (ah, reminiscing), the vocals (no less than the great Don Henley), and the music video for this song ain't bad either :-)

To me, simply an iconic sound of summer in the 80s in the same way that Good Vibrations might have been of the 60s.
When listened to on an MP3 player, the skilful musicianship and wistful lyrics hit home harder to join the overpowering atmosphere.
It's a power delivery of poignant philiosophy and if you were around in the 80s, you have to have it.

This is a classic pop/rock crossover. It reminds you of long hot days in Florida as well as being a bloody good record. It's a shame the album it came from didn't reach this standard
