Book Description

30 Oct 2014
Tom dreamed of being an adventurer. But everyone told him he was crazy, so he decided to prove them wrong by cycling round the world! The first book of Tom s adventures followed him across Europe and through the mysterious landscapes of Africa. In Part Two, Tom pedals north from the tip of South America up through the Americas towards Alaska. He must contend with deserts, jungles and the massive mountains of the Andes. He meets grizzly bears , fascinating locals, and even a memorable guinea pig. Tom learns about the world, and himself, as he tackles this epic journey. Based on the authors personal experiences and with engaging illustrations, maps and handwritten journal entries throughout, this book provides an immersive experience for any young adventurer. Alastair Humphreys spent four years cycling 46,000 miles round the world. In 2012, he was named as a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year.

I haven't read this book yet. I wanted to order it for my son, however I was a little put off by UK_Bookstore's somewhat high price of £4321.24.
Even though my son enjoyed the first book in the series, this seemed a little steep to me for a kid's paperback. Perhaps I'll wait for it to come out on the Kindle (maybe it'll be priced at a little less than the price of a small car then)?
