Fantastic adaptation; it managed to get all the family together on boxing day! Having read Mary Norton's original I was doubtful that I would like it (there are not many adaptations that I do really like!) but since the plot was original and interesting, I found that I wasn't comparing it to the original all the time and could enjoy it!

This is a typical Stephen Fry and worth watchimg for his performance alone. The mixing of the two sizes of people was very well done.

Not just dire but utterly dire ... and insufferably tedious. In a failed attempt to update the narrative this embarrassing re-make lacks all the charm of the original story. AVOID.
