2.0 out of 5 stars The Book of Khalid 9 May 2012

Not at all what I thought it would be! Far too intense for me. I never give up on a book, always seeing it to the end but I'm afraid I couldn't get past the first few pages of this.

I bought this edition because it was much less expensive than other editions. But you get what you pay for.

It says on the front of the book: "affordable & high quality paperback edition". It is affordable; that is correct. But definitely not high quality.

The text on the pages look like text typed with an old-fashioned typewriter - the kind that was last used some 30 years ago maybe. Also, this typed text if very faint. So, if your sight is not perfect, it will tire you very quickly, and the look of the text (cannot even call it "print") is off-putting.

If you are a student on a small budget, and you are required to read this book, or you are a literary buff and you are desperate to read this in any form cheaply, then you might consider buying this edition. Otherwise, buy a decent - sadly, much more expensive - proper edition of this excellent and interesting book. This one is a waste of money.

Not very interesting and long winded, didn't even reach the end of the book before I gave up. Glad it was free.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wrong product description 10 April 2011
Format:Paperback
This is a historically interesting book given what is happening in the Arab world, but ignore the product description, which is for another book.
