5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing with creative ideas! 23 Jun 2002
By Lizzie
Format:Hardcover
For my little sisters birthday, i couldnt find her anything in the shops that she might like. but when i got home i had a look on the net and found a great 'harry potter' inspired book. She throughly enjoyed it! Her favourite thing to make was the trunk, and she has stored all her toys in it. A brilliant book, very imaginative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for kids, either! 3 July 2002
By "chaobell" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I'm 28 years old. I have no children. I don't even have any small children anywhere in my immediate family. And here I am, buying and writing a gushing torrent of praise for a children's book.

This is the best book in the whole world. No, really. Okay, except maybe the proper Harry Potter books, but. It's still a darn fine book.

The crystal ball lamp is really what I'm itching to make. Meanwhile, I've been busying myself with churning out wizard money, rings, and baby unicorn horns to dole out to Potter-loving friends. And you bet I'm going to try the Every Flavor Be--ah, I mean, All Flavors Gumdrops recipe posthaste. Can't wait to see the look on my boss's face when I slip him a tabasco one. Ahem.

Kids WILL need help from grownups for most of this stuff, but that's not a bad thing. And, if I may make a suggestion: if you help your kids whip up a batch of Dragon Blood, put it in little plastic bottles from the craft store--and glue the caps on. Messy stuff

5.0 out of 5 stars Only the Best Book the Entire Universe! (well, almost) 8 Mar 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I am thirteen years old and consider myself sort of above most little kids' books. However, this book was so incredibly neat, here I am writing this review! It contains everything you want to know about how to pretend to be a wizard. I haven't acually tried all the things yet, but just siting there, looking at the artwork is awesome. It has everything from food to dragonsblood to mythology to wizard parties to a powder that smokes when you rub it. One should not be restrained by the age sugjestions-I want every fantasy-lover I know to READ THIS BOOK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Magickal! 21 Aug 2001
By Rivens Girl - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I couldn't believe this book when I saw it, loaded with activities to do with my child, and for years to come my family will enjoy this lighthearted and fun filled work. Contains how to make robes, staffs, rings, flying carpets. Recipes such as crunchy bat wings, all types of activities to enjoy and do together (the important thing). For "kids" of all ages, opens your heart and mind and lets the magic that resides within you out. I bought this for my 1 yr. olds first birthday but I can't even put it down. Truly a wonderful book, Especially if your raising your child in alternative spiritualities or just want to do the "funny little things" that make you MOM.
