Book Description

20 Nov 2012
"Be strong and very courageous and you will find The Land of Love." When the Queen valiantly gives her life to save her son, tragedy besets the faraway land of Perlfasond and Princess Cordelia Rose and her brother Roland enlist the help of a wizard to find the Tree of Broken Hearts. On their quest, they befriend an extraordinary group of colourful characters - Alphonse Pommery Earl, a wizard with a flaming temper, Charles Falconberg Earl, the yogi with magical powers, Peony Grizelda, the funny witch, and even a talking chair. Author Maxine Tobias, a practising yogi of many years, strongly believes that children develop their sense of morality through stories that touch the heart with beauty, truth and compassion. “The Book of Transformations is a powerful tale of good overcoming evil, of development and learning, but with a healthy dose of magic and humour that is sure to keep both parents and children glued to the pages.” Emily Heaton, illustrator of More Carrots For Me

5.0 out of 5 stars not surprising! 3 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I am not surprised that the book of transformation is a superb read, as Maxine Tobias is one of the most imaginative, succinct and charming writers around. The book bristles with fantasy and insight into how we might live; sharply and cleverly noted insights. Thank you, Maxine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful fairy story 13 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a delightful fairy story with a strong message about the power of love and in particular a mother's love. It takes a little time to get into the story, then each chapter tempts you into the next. The characters come to life, each with their own story as the adventure unfolds. I loved the wizzies.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Book of Transformations by Maxine Tobias 20 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
All engaging narratives are concerned with journeys. The writer has to pitch his tale somewhere between "The Odyssey" and "The Wizard of Oz".
When children are the target readers, the writer may predictably slide towards shiny red shoe whimsy to draw in the imagination of the the young adventurers.
Ms Tobias succeeds in exciting, enchanting, entertaining and inspiring without recourse to the expected on a level where all ages come together on the route which leads to discovering what matters.
A magic book. True and original.
