From a taut beginning to a startling finish, this thoughtful, well written tale of modern mayhem and ancient texts involving benign scholars and wicked priests takes the reader from the mass graves of Bosnia to the vaults of the Vatican with an unlikely hero, a priest caught between sacred and profane love, a man who does not seem to know who his true enemy is and who his friends are. With flashes of humor thrown in, this is the perfect read for a winter evening!

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Even better than the first one.The story is settled mainly on the Balkans and Greek and the characters are better pictured. It kept me guessing till the end. The background and the storyline are really attractive. It is a winner, I cannot wait till the next one.

Unnecessarily overcomplicated, clumsy and awkward in style in too many places, it left me cold. I felt like I'd sat through the world's most boring RE lesson that at one point I almost gave up. Believe me, it takes a LOT for that to happen! It's a shame because the premise had the makings of a good yarn.

I'm afraid the experience means I'll be deleting Rabb's Berlin trilogy from my reading list.

I enjoyed reading this book. This thriller is set in Bosnia and the Vatican. The hero is a priest who follows a series of clues to break the code of an ancient text. During this time his love is torn between the church and his lover.
This novel has well developed characters and was easy to read and follow.
If you liked Dan Brown this is one for you.

I did enjoy most of the book however some of the surprises were a little easy to guess at long before they were revealed. If you enjoy books by Dan brown then you will also like this although the main subject the secret order and the scroll are more believable. On the whole I found this well researched and a good premise to base the story on.

This book is actually a thriller set in the Vatican in Rome and kept me on the edge of my seat right the way through. I found the end a bit difficult to follow but it did not matter. I can certainly recommend this.

If you liked Dan Browns mysteries, you might like this book, but then again you might think it is rubbish. The book surprised me, I enjoyed the plot and the characters, it might actually make a good movie!
