Format: Hardcover
My husband has just taken up photography and was bemoaning the fact that he couldn't find anyone to explain the F-stops to him. My idea of f-stops weren't quite what he had in mind. This book by John HedgecoeThe Book of Photography is perfect as it goes through everything in great detail in simple language that even he can understand.

I have had several point and shoot camera's and a couple of SLR's but always went back to the easy point and shoot camera's as i never understood how to use the SLR's to my advantage.

Well i have just purchased a Panasonic G3 and a couple of lenses, firstly the camera is awesome and is the ideal camera for those who do not want a full size SLR, but want to get a bit more creative and get better photo's than a point and shoot.

Well my wife got me this book from our library and within 30 minutes i knew more about photography than i ever had before, the things i was worried about like (WB - white balance, Dof - depth of field, Aperture and f-stops, to name a few) are covered and easily explained without the jargon or mathematical theories.

I still have the book out on loan from the library, but have also just bought it from Amazon as i will always use this book and did not want to be without it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to move away from full auto mode and get the best from there camera!

It's ok but a bit dated. Bought it for a 10 year old boy with a very mature and keen interest in photography and a very expensive new camera. Some of the subject matter a bit unsuitable, ie naked females!

Started photography again so I badly needed teaching on the subject. This book did exactly that and brought me back to scratch.
