This is, as far as I'm concerned anyway, the most accurate of the books about the est training. Much has been written of the so-called brainwashing techniques used; of the bullying and the insults and of the expressionless robots that administered the two weekend training. All of this has been done to death, both at the time and since. What Luke Rhinehart's book does is present the training as a fictional account. Importantly though, this book actually picks up on the HUMOUR that was such a memorable part of the training - a point sadly missed by many of its critics (and some of its staunchest defenders).
