Box sets can be a disappointment at times but not this one. It charts the development of The Blues Band over a number of years and includes both studio and "live" tracks. The quality is exceptional and you get the feeling that the band enjoy their work. The "live" tracks are interpersed throughout the 4 CD's and capture the bands stage presence very well.

This compilation represents an excellent opportunity for those new to the band to find out what they have been missing.

A quality reminder of a recent Blues Band gig we went to. Excellent album notes on the band in a beautifully presented package.

I bought this at a gig local to me as I always liked this band and wanted to see them live. They are fantastic! There are some brilliant tracks on here and if you like blues, this is a good place to start. The downside, for me anyway, is when the band signed the cd's we'd bought at the end of the event. All the band were great until it came to Paul Jones. What a miserable, arrogant gimp! It's a great shame really because whenever I try and listen to this, I think back to that night and I have to turn it off again! I appreciate I'm being subjective rather than objective but PJ really did spoil the night for me. However, this really is a good box set. One recording I really would like to get hold of is a South Bank show recorded several years ago that featured this band, Nine Below Zero and Dr. Feelgood all playing live and then, at the end, all of them jammed together. It was fantastic listening and viewing. If you ever get the chance to see this, grab it- don't miss it!
