The Bloom And The Blight is quite a departure for Two Gallants, but at the same time feels entirely natural. A lot can happen to two men in five years, and whatever it was is in this album. It's raw, it's aggressive, it's full of energy and life. From the soaring vocals strains to the fuzzy guitar riffs, this is everything I wanted from Two Gallants' four full-length. It's grungy but still brimming with folk elements. It's hard but still retains a gentleness that the lead singer Adam Stephens brings to the table. The drums are walloping and passionate—seeing them live demonstrates this even more clearly—and the guitars are musical and boisterous. One moment you're hearing a folk song strum solo on a steel-string acoustic, the next you're listening to a two-piece relive the days of their grungy youth, with all its frustration and energy. Nothing could please me more than to experience the lives of these two geniuses as they explore the last five years in full gory detail, one coarse and beautiful song at a time.

When I first listened to this album I thought it was just great! And I still think that even after listening to it what could be close to 20, maybe even 30 times. Wow. Both of the gallants are really on top form in these songs, the one that drums as well as the first gallant. My favourite song might be Dyin' Crapshooter Blues. You're probably thinking "That's a blind Willie McTell song". Well you have a point! But the two gallants version is an absolute delight. I really enjoy it. Also I like the other songs a similar amount. If you are wondering whether or not to buy this album then I would say "buy it!", it really is very good.

Thanks two Gallants! Keep up the good work. !

Yet another masterpiece from The 2 Gallants
Has a much more electric sound than their previous albums but their usual raw & passionate sounds are there in full effect. Been a fan of these guys for years now & every album just hits the spot time after time.
It's a change of sound compared to The Throes or WTTT but it's still unmistakably them
Adam Stephens is his usual powerful & passionate self with some great lyrics, some quite dark but others more uplifting and great to hear Tyson Vogel on guitar & vocals as well as his ferioucious drumming
Halcyon Days, Broken Eyes, Cradle Pyre & I'm so Depressed are the stand out songs for me
Overall a solid & thoroughly enjoyable album
