Biography

Bionic Boy received plaudits from Tom Middleton, Laurent Garnier and Ashley Beadle – Jockey Slut called MJ ‘the most exciting thing to happen to UK house music’ and awarded the album 5 stars. Bionic Boy spawned some memorable singles; Sunlight even got a review in NME, ‘Dimensional’ tickled Romanthony’s feathers so much he asked to remix it. After the ... Product Description

Inc. The Massive 'Sunlight' Milton Jackson's debut long player, following a string of superb singles for Tronicsole and Glasgow Underground. An eclectic mix of house with tech, disco and electro influences which all sit nicely together as an album. The main highlight here is the final track, Sunlight, seemingly influenced by Pepe Bradock's Deep Burnt but with enough personality to make it a classic in its own right

The album is full of groundbreaking stuff. Excellent beats, huge bass lines and very original. Trax magazine (French) have it as "Album du Mois" alongside Chemical Brothers - that's Album of the Month if your French is not too hot. It's better, in my opinion - but then that's a subjective thing. If you are a DJ or just into dance / house, you'll love it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Milton Jackson - The Bionic Boy 28 Feb 2011
By scoundrel - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Some nice (if not particularly distinguished) house from Milton Jackson on his debut album THE BIONIC BOY. He keeps a smooth, steady groove going on tracks like "In the Mood" and "I See You," but there's also a simplicity to the tracks like "Beat My Beat" that takes things down a notch. The electro intro to "Shock Me All Nite" promises something exciting, but it isn't delivered until "Dimensional." "All New" delivers some disco glitter, as does "Old Styles." The final track, "Sunlight," pulls in some strings for warmth, but it's not quite enough to elevate this album above the rest.
