It was nice to see some of the old characters again .I love anything released regarding the bill because quite frankly it was an utter disgrace they stopped it.
If it was costing so much to produce then what was wrong with collaborating with an overseas company.

Great Little Box-Set I love the Bill when it was on so bought the set the only problem and the reason I can only give this 3 stars instead of 5 was the disk-cases which hold this wonderful series even though its in a large box the disk cases are broken inside.
So I've no choice now but to have to pay more money for replacement cases at a cost of £40 The only good news I had was that I bought the set at £76 + postage of less than £2 and the cost of the whole collection double overnight to well over £150+ for the same set. Now forgetting the state of the disc covers the set is brill and brings back memories of all those nights watching the Bill.
Its just a pity the ITV bosses tried to mess around with it to get more viewing figures instead of helping the series the practical destroyed the series.

It's hilarious watching this now, and remembering back! The really smart uniforms, the WPCs carrying handbags on their shoulders, the officers walking the beat, the local residents knowing their local officers' names and stopping them to say hello and grass people up in the street, the old police car at the beginning of the opening credits with the old siren and the sound of it skidding... it just shows how policing in this country is completely unrecognisable now, to how it was back then. It used to be filmed in Wapping so it's all East London accents, and funny clothes. Brilliant entertainment, and a great laugh too!

Three episodes or cracking Burnside action -- but the first one is far and away the best. Roache and Tosh catch porn merchants moving into Sun Hill, and Burnside remembers them from his previous posting. By the end of the half-hour, Burnside has the two criminals at each other's throats. Ruthless and brilliant.

Bought this because of the fancy prices being charged for some of the later series' on DVD. Everything well up to scratch, though a slightly different feel to it compared with the eighties. Can't say I missed Burnside too much. Never liked it as much after John Salthouse left. Still, one can't have everything. Bonus of the very sexy Sharon Maugham as Santini's defence lawyer; Andrew Paul on top form.

The pilot for The Bill Woodentop from 1983 is well worth seeing.Technically not the best Episode ever but we see how much Trudie Goodwin(WPC/Sgt June Ackland)and Mark Wingett(PC Jim Carver)have changed in the past 20 years. Also on this video is the first episode of the Series The Bill.No doubt one of the best Episodes I have ever seen.Sgt Bob Cryer meets an old enemy no other than Detective Sergeant Tommy Burnside(yes it is Frank Burnside but in the early Bill days Frank was called Tommy).Detective Inspector Roy Galloway is on the hunt for a team of Double Glazing window fitters who are breaking into houses causing him grief from Chief Superintendent Charles Brownlow.PC Jim Carver and PC Taffy Edwards arrest DS Burnsides snout and Carver looses his arrest as Burnsides snout is on to a case for Burnside.Excellent two Episodes,a real shame more modern The Bill Episodes can not be like thses two can.
