This official book is a complete guide to the last 20 years of the best police show on TV. Recalling the daily lives of the officers at Sun Hill, the criminals and their victims, it also goes behind the scenes as the show's most familiar faces reveal the trickery and secret techniques that help bring the drama to the small screen. Illustrated throughout with over 150 photographs, The Bill takes fans back to the days of Roy Galloway, and follows the drama at Sun Hill through each consecutive DI since then: Frank Burnside; Jack Meadows; Chris Deakin and Alex Cullen. With additional features on the best stunts, exclusive interviews with key cast and crew members, a special section devoted to the new young guns and a Sun Hill roll call with character profiles of all the major characters to walk the corridors of Sun Hill over the past twenty years. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

If you're a fan on The Bill this is a vital book. Most of the book is concentrated on The Bill in its early days, which is pretty pleasing for 'Old Bill' fans. It does, however, contain information on The Bill in it's current day as a soap which is also a treat for new fans of The Bill. Also, if you're buying the book before October-November time, you should be warned it contains information of future storylines/exits which have not yet been aired.

Overall the book is pretty well written, has some great old photos and the cover is pretty good - so it gets a 4.

Having been a fan of the bill on and off for years. This is the ultimate treasure trove. It gives fans the chance to feel part of the series and touches back on some truly memoriable characters such as Don Beech, Matt Boydon, Jim Carver, Superintendant Charles Brownlow and Tom Chandler. Fansinating for fans of all generations. Could there be another volume of two in this? Who knows? Fans like us will just have to wait.
