Some Product Information 8 Jun 2006
By Mr. S. D. Leak - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Great Transcriptions. There is some important product information missing in the first 3 volumes - including the transcribers: Liam Noble (the piano and bass), Chris Baron (the drums) and Artemis Music Ltd.

And the Albums from which each track comes (A big setback I'm sure for anyone who has bought the books but does not own a lot of actual Bill Evans Recorded material)

These are the albums used in this volume:

Come Rain or Come Shine - Trio 65

How My Heart Sings - Trio 65

Isn't It Romantic - At Shelly's Manne-Hole

Israel - Trio 65

Re:Person I knew - Moonbeams

Show Type Tune - How My Heart Sings

Stella By Starlight - At Shelly's Manne-Hole

34 Skidoo - How My Heart Sings

Also Arnold Wise does not actually appear in this book

Excellent transcriptions -- a treasure! 9 Feb 2006
By pepperminta - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Extremely accurate transcriptions of bill evans' trio - with all three parts - piano, drums and bass.

I would consider this intermediate to advanced because if you are playing the pieces up to tempo - to get the syncopation and bill evans feel - a more intermediate/advanced pianist would feel more comfortable playing and mastering these pieces than a beginner.

You will appreciate his artistry when you see the notes on paper. Whether you want to play just the piano part or play w/ your trio - I would really recommend this book for true bill evans fans. I especially love this book because "moonbeams" is my favorite bill evans album, and to have the exact piano music to "re: person i knew" is one of the greatest finds - it is gorgeous. Highly recommended to all jazz pianists or classical pianists - especially true bill evans fans.
