What a disappointment! I love The Biggest Loser shows and wanted to see what the exercise and diet regime was like. I eagerly awaited the book but unfortunately it was not as I expected. It has some good advice in, but was basic and it more or less stated that it wasn't about fast, extreme weight loss like the shows. Sorry? Isn't that why the show is so popular. I also thought the contestant details weren't great. For example it didn't show before and after weights or many pictures so it didn't really motivate me that way. At the same time I purchase the work out book and the secrets. So far the work out book, apart from a few step by step exercises to target trouble spots, seems identical to this book, so I wouldn't bother buying both.
Overall, the book was hard to read, with large pages of writing and not concise enough. I found myself skim reading to get to the point. Some parts of the book were oddly written in future tense. For example Ali, the Winner of Season 5 was written about and it sounded like it had been written before she'd finished the competition.
