Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

We've all got clip art by the bucketload--they give it away free with, well, everything, but have you ever found exactly what you were looking for? The sheer volume of material in The Big Box of Art makes it odds-on that you'll find the image you need, and with the variety of available formats you'll probably be spoilt for choice.

There are 350,000 images in total, on a wad of CDs almost as thick as the phone book. The drawback with most clipart collections is that you get a limited style of images in a single format. But The Big Box of Art includes vector graphics, bitmapped illustration, colour and black and white photos, textures and web graphics and animations.

There are 5,000 Hemera "Photo-Objects'"--cutout images with a transparent background that can be used like clip art. All the photos are high resolution, so you can use them in printed projects as well as for the web, and two bonus applications, Hemera CD Designs Creator and Hemera Greetings Card Creator are also included.

A search engine-equipped browser ensures you don't spend a lifetime searching for that elusive illustration and, as the images are all royalty-free, you can use them wherever and whenever you like.--Ken McMahon

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Handy Package Indeed 12 Feb. 2003
Having always found the reviews on this site so helpful, I thought that I would attempt to write one on what really is a superb piece of software. We purchased the Big Box of Art a couple of months ago, but it is only now that I am working on producing a company brochure that I am beginning to discover what a good find it really was. I am certainly no Graphic Designer but this really is helping immensely.
It is jammed with high qualty images covering everything you could ever need. There are loads of clip art cartoon images and illustrations which are very useful. However on searches at the very end of the selections there are also some lovely photographs which can look very classy indeed! Even the photographic images can take enlargement and reproduce really well. I'm just hoping that not too many people will discover how good the Big Box is or they might recognise the images that I've used and realise that we haven't spend a fortune on hiring a photograper afterall!
Once you have loaded the initial search CD onto your system you can hunt through thumbnail images until you find what you need. As you then need to put the relevant CD back into the drive it can get a little confusing as there are so many disks! We have transferred all our Big Box disks across to a zip around CD case which holds them all and makes things much easier.
Also bear in mind that as the software is Canadian, you may have to use American/Canadian terms when you are searching through every now and then.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolutely fantastic product 7 Sept. 2003
I am a web designer who used to suffer from continual frustration until I discovered Hemera. I first bought photo objects I & II, and now the big box of art has filled in the gaps with its beautiful high quality color photographs. I could do without all the clip-art in the big box, but I understand that a lot of people like them. I honestly don't know what I would without my Hemera products. I'm still amazed at the value for money they give.

I agree with all that has been said before, this software also runs on Windows 7 which is not stated in the write up. I have owned this product for at least 10 years and am still using it having installed on Windows 98, XP and now 7.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent range 26 Mar. 2002
By A Customer
I bought this, after already having bought Photo Objects 1 & 2. It offers an excellent range of images - ideal for designing posters and flyers for our theatre group.
