Product Description

Product Description

"The Big Book of Juices" is a new edition of Natalie Savona's classic title - now with even more juices and smoothies and more than 250 photographs. It is founded on two basic principles. First, that juicing is easy if we simply adopt the habit of it; and second, that juicing every day is a delicious way to get healthy and stay healthy. Following a comprehensive introduction to juicing, 405 different juice and smoothie blends are divided up into three central chapters: Making Juices; Making Smoothies; and, Making Quenchers (juices with a little added something - such as soda water, herbs or spices).Every blend is given an at-a-glance nutrient profile (listing vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients), and a star rating on its merits as an energy - and immune-booster, a detoxer, and a tonic for the skin. The recipes can be sourced in several ways: by fruit or vegetable of choice (the chapters are organized by main ingredient); by health benefit (an alphabetical chart lists approximately 50 common ailments or disorders, and cross-references them to the juices that will help overcome them); and by nutrient (a list is given of all the major vitamin and mineral nutrients, each with cross-references to the relevant recipes in the book). The last chapter - a juicing reference section - includes the nutrient and ailment charts as well as suggested juice courses for detoxing and immunity boosting, making this the most practical and comprehensive juice book on the market.

Go and get it! 8 Feb 2010
Format:Hardcover
Natalie Savona's 'Big Book Of Juices' is the best book of its kind I've seen so far. It is full of tempting juice and smoothie recipes, but the author also explains how to prepare the different fruit and vegetables for juicing or blending, and gives great advice about the ailments you can treat or possibly prevent with certain ingredients.

I'm keen to lose weight and was particularly interested in tasty recipes for vegetable-based juices, or those with a high vegetable content. I guess that there are around 250 recipes containing vegetables in this book, if not more. Therefore I am more than pleased with this book. I was also happy to see that I can get all the mentioned fruit and vegetables at my local supermarket in London. Those living in the country might find it more difficult to get hold of pineapple or passion fruit, but most of the recipes don't require exotic fruit, but good old basics like apple, orange, celery or carrots.

Go and get this book, if you're interested in juicing. You won't regret it.

[[ASIN:1844837920 The Big Book of Juices: More Than 400 Natural Blends for Health and Vitality Every Day]A great book with lots of varied recipes for both vegetable and fruit juices along with smoothies, You do need certain equipment, though you can do quite a number with just a blender. A centrifugal juice extractor is a must in my opinion but you can manage without a pull handle juice extractor and just use one of those glass things where you cut your citrus fruit in half and press and twist it. cant think what they are called other than a simple juice extractor!!]

I just finished watching Fat, Sick and Nearly dead and my husband I made the decision to start juicing. Bought the Philips Robust Collection HR1881/00 Juicer, 1200 Watt and this book. What a fantastic book of juice recipes! It's a hardcover, each page has a picture of the juice and the page next to it has all the ingredients. Lots of easy recipes with easy to find ingredients, I love it!

It's huge, with 405 different recipes, a juicing reference section and the thing I liked a lot: on each recipe page there is a little nutrient legend with stars for each category.

All in all a great purchase, I am very pleased with this book!
