Product Description

Book Description

The Big Book of Top Gear is back - bigger, better, faster, louder and with 14 per cent more blatant untruths about The Stig

Product Description

Inside these lavishly tooled pages you'll find lashings of nonsense about Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, including Clarkson's not-awaited fitness DVD, how to get Hammond to open your new supermarket and James's bizarre new sideline in satellite-navigation systems.

Plus, there's heaps of stuff from the TV show including a unique insight into the special clothes worn by the presenters, a behind-the -cenes look at what the guest stars get up to off camera and some rejected ideas for one of Top Gear's most famous tests.

All this plus masses of cartoons, car trivia and a frankly ill-considered puzzle page. What more do you want? A free banana? Actually, that was considered, but they would have gone mouldy and made the warehouse smell. Sorry.

POWEEEER!!! 8 Nov 2009
By Paul Everdark VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
If there was ever any proof needed that you don't need to know the slightest thing about cars in order to enjoy Top Gear, this is it. In fact cars are barely given a mention in this rather chunky, moreish book, and believe me, it's for the best. Rarely does a book make you laugh so hard you cry, but this does it several times.

It's hard to describe what this book is. It's a collection of bits and bobs, really, mostly rambling nonsense and fake-articles, but it's so much more than that. Anyone can see that they're taking the mickey, even poking fun at themselves, and it's clear that this book was as much fun to make as it is to read it.

It's crammed with so much, and is full of little details that make sure you always spot something new every time. Some standout moments for me are the 'Everything can be fixed with a Hammer' article, 'James interviews the Stig', and 'The Power of Literally', but really, there's too many to count, and every page is as stupidly funny as the last.

The front cover says they're 'slightly on fire', but I beg to differ. This is scorching stuff, and will take you twice as long to read as normal because you'll be blinking back tears of laughter.

As Clarkson would say: 'This could...quite possibly....be THE best book...........................................................in the world."

Top gear, Top book 16 Oct 2009
Format:Hardcover
If you watch Top Gear for the laughs, I highly recommend you buy this book. As ever with Top Gear, it's funny, noisy, scurrilous, surreal and slightly about cars. I particularly enjoyed the cut-out-and keep Richard Hammond, JC's exercise plan (don't expect to get fit), a great hairstyle chart so you know what series you are watching on Dave, and a 1970s porn film script featuring James May as a plumber (it's not what you might think!). Oh and there's a priceless re-interpretation of Thunderbirds in a comic strip called Top Gear Rescue. Commencing faterization... Hilarious!

My husband and I love the show, so I bought this book. I have seen it in the shops as well and it's as daft as the show, making me laugh out loud.

Great Top Gear Humor!
This is a great book if you are into Top Gear style humor. Lots of funny "ads" for each host, etc.

A must for any Top Gear fan!
For any Top Gear fan this is the perfect 'top up' to the programme. It is fun and frivolous and has many 'tongue in cheek' articles that Top Gear fans will love.

Tedious and childish a disappointment in comparison to the TV show.
The TV show is rightly successful - 3 grown men messing around with cars, it is funny, to the point and well made. Read more
