Product Description

Who's Afraid? Alex Cross's first case since joining the FBI has his new colleagues perplexed. Across the country, men and women are kidnapped in broad daylight. They are not being taken for ransom, Alex realises, but being bought and sold. And it seems The Wolf is the master criminal behind this terrible trade. You're Afraid. Getting impatient with the FBI's clumsiness and caution when it is time to move, Alex has to go out on his own in order to track his new prey and try to rescue some of the victims.

Full of the unexpected twists and heartrending surprises that James Patterson is famed for.

I am big fan of James Pattersons books and the Alex Cross books are usually my favourite holiday reading matter as they are easily and quickly read round the poolside. However, found the ending to this book a real anti-climax.I am not easily confused but could someone please explain why earlier on in the book the wolf is actually named then, (without wanting to ruin the story line)we find out the wolf is someone else, resulting in the next book - London Bridges.

Terrible !!
After reading about 15 JP books , I wanted the new Alex Cross mystery. Maybe some of the magic we saw with Gary Soneji, instead i got bits of all his old adventures crudely arranged in a new book with some of the names changed so we dont realise. Completely predictable story and as for the "firing a rocket launcher at someone when your in the same van (No, Really)" most of it is completely ridiculous with little continuity and massive plot flaws. I loved all the other Alex Cross books, but this one almost made me hate him. Avoid it people, its one of the worst books i have ever read.

As with all Patterson books once you have started you find it incredibly difficult to put it down, I really enjoy Alex Cross and the 'big bad wolf was no exception' but really 'James' where is the rest of it, there is a new book not yet published Im wondering is this the sequal, I really need to know what happens to little Alex and who is the Wolf, in true Patterson fashion he's keeping us hanging but not only to the last page Im disapointed that I have to wait for another book to get to the climax. You'll enjoy it but it will really leave you wanting more!!!

Long-winded
Not one of his best. It felt dragged out and repetitive. Finding out who the wolf was and the 'big mistake in Paris' was a big anti-climax

The Very Definition of "Pulp Fiction"
"Big Bad Wolf" is so cheesy and over-the-top that I thought it might be some sort of parody of the genre. But it seems to consider itself a serious attempt at a thriller. Read more

big bad ending
What was most disapointing was that we have to buy another book to find out who the wolf is....really annoying. However it was a good fast read and enjoyable.

A new villain
The Big Bad Wolf is the ultimate bad guy; Ruthless, anonymous and untouchable. What better a way to start off Alex Cross' FBI career than with the creation of a new arch-nemesis. Read more

Lost in the woods.
Disappointed. Love Alex Cross and JP, but this felt like a stop gap, until he could really work out where the plot with with Wolf should go. Read more
