This motorcycle atlas is made from tear proof, water proof paper, which makes it ideal for use on the bike. It fits in my tank bag with ease and the scale means that I don't have to keep taking it out to turn the pages over every 5 minutes. But the real value of this atlas is the 300 recommended rides, ideal for planning your route. A couple of the rides I have done the B6047 and the B1248 have been worth the cost of the atlas alone! I am off to France in the summer and the Best Rides France is already helping me plan my route, hopefully the rides will be up to the same standard.

Great book for bikers that like to get out and about. Handy size to carry and non rip paper makes it highly durable and should last ages.

Living in an area in the south of England which is blessed with an abundance of great roads, I wanted something that could expand my usual routes.

In reality it confirmed what I already knew, but also left out some glaring (and potentially obvious) routes which vistors to the region would be daft to miss. In addition, suggested some other to routes (A24? A23!!?) which would not be on my list of great bike rides.

To that end, this knocked my confidence in the book, and it's suggestions for routes outside of my local area.

Couple that with a hefty price tag, its difficult to recommend as a definitive guide, but may put you roughly on the right track. Just be prepared to get off the beaten track once you get to wherever you go.
