.. well, they don't anymore. That doesn't mean that good music is not being made. It is alive and well. The second Cream Of The Crop from Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings is all the proof you need. This cd is nothing short of SUPERB..!!

Every track is a gem but I will draw your attention to only two. Firstly "Lonely Blue Boy" sung by Gary Brooker. The voice of Procol Harum doing an old Conway Twitty number. The marriage here may seem unlikely but it is absolutely delicious. Andy Fairweather Low's Low-down gee-tar doesn't hurt either.

Secondly there is "Love Letters". Words fail me here. It's beauty defies description... but just let me say that this version is as close to a religious experience as I have had for many a year. One of the band's greatest assets is the voice of Beverly Skeete. Just turn out the lights, put your head back and let this tune flow over you like molasses. Savor it to the very last fading notes. It'll give you goose-bumps and, by the way, it also features Georgie Fame on organ and the late George Harrison's slide guitar gently weeping in the background.

Blues, pop, swing, soul... we have it all here and it's expertly played by some of the finest musicians left to play it. Thanks guys.. Thanks Bill.

THIS IS THE VOL THAT CAME 1ST ALTHOUGH I ORDERED VOL 1 PRIOR TO THAT, THEY CERTAINLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A GOOD CROSS SELECTION OF TRACKS FROM HIS STUDIO ALBUMS, THIS IS A PERFECT PARTNER FOR THE VOL 1 SELECTION , STICK IT ON AND DANCE TIL YOU DROP, WARNING THESE ALBUMS CONTAIN REAL MUSIC BY REAL MUSICIANS, DEFINITELY NOT FOR THOSE WHO LIKE THEIR MUSIC MANUFACTURED, AND ALL THE LIFE BLED OUT OF IT.BY OVER PRODUCTION.

Great stuff, Bill and the gang on top form. Something for everyone here, a good cross section of music and it's nice to hear Georgie Fame again and Beverley Skeete's vocal on Love Letters is awesome. Recommended buy!
