You'll Love This Music 13 May 2000
By Ralph Quirino - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Classic seventies soul by one of the key vocal groups of the time. This single CD set is the finest collection of the band's biggest and best-known hits. From "Backstabbers" to "I Love Music", "For The Love Of Money" to "Love Train", this anthology is filled with what made them a key influence on so many modern soul acts. Other collections exist, but this set has top-notch sound remastering, great liner notes and all the right cuts at a really good price.

They Smile In Your Face 10 Jun. 2001
By David Bradley - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Before Soul and Pop de-evolved into Disco--the scourge from which modern popular music has never really recovered--there were records around that were rhythm-oriented, danceable, and intelligent. That's a combination almost unheard of in 2001.
The O'Jays, produced by the legendary Gamble & Huff, were among the most popular proponents of the Philadelphia brand of Soul. Along with a few groups from LA, New York and Miami, the O'Jays took over AM radio in the early and mid-1970s, with great singles like "Love Train," "For The Love Of Money," and their masterpiece "Backstabbers." This is a fine compilation of 10 tunes that are truly the best of the O'Jays.
The O'Jays at their best from 1972-1976. 13 July 2015
By Justo Roteta - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This 10-track compilation of The O'Jays's big hits from 1972-1976 features such timeless Soul classics as "Back Stabbers", "Love Train", "992 Arguments", "I Love Music", "Time To Get Down" and "Survival" and this CD definitely boasts above-average sound quality on all ten tracks. Robert Palmer's extensive booklet liner notes are also very informative and revealing and are definitely well worth reading. My only complaint is that there was definitely room for more than ten songs on this budget-priced but nonetheless very good compilation. The O'Jays were most definitely one of the greatest and most important R&B groups of the 1970s and this compilation (while not definitive) is sure to please. Enjoy!
