The name derives from the collective term for the three ancient types of Irish music, Suantraí (lullaby), Geantraí (happy song) and Goltraí (lament). One of the choir's stated aims is to explore and redefine choral music from… Read more in Amazon's Anuna Store

Product Description

CD Description

The album features twenty-two tracks chosen by Anúna director Michael McGlynn. "Choosing material for this release was the hardest job that I have ever had to do for a recording. There are some obvious inclusions such as "Jerusalem" and "Dúlamán", but I have also included what I would see as the most defining pieces of our recorded output, "Island" and "Nobilis Humilis" [2009 version] being such examples. Although the earliest material recorded on this release dates back to 1991, the sound we create has not changed at its core, despite the huge turn-over of singers in nineteen years." Also included is the previously unreleased track "The Lass of Glenshee", recorded in 1996 and completed in 2010.
