Product Description

Romantic comedy starring Stuart Townsend as Olly Pickering, a gifted writer who has unfortunately been struck with writer's block and frittered away his publisher's advance without a single paragraph to show for it. Then, out of the blue, James (Steve John Shepherd), Olly's best friend from university whom he has not seen for five years, gets in touch. James is getting married and he wants Olly to be his Best Man. Olly is immediately terrified about how he is going to write a speech when his writer's block is so extreme. 2.0 out of 5 stars A weak film 30 Aug 2011
By Vicente
Format:DVD
This is a bad film, plenty of clichés and too often looking for the easy laugh (how many times does the best man fall down?). It just seems like a film made joining parts from other rom-coms. The good guy is very good, the bad guy is very bad and the bride is also perfect. Of course there is also the best man's "shameless best friend" who does everything he can to help the best man. Not funny at all.
The only positive thing about this film is Amy Smart, really pretty and charming.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very british romcom! 29 May 2011
Format:DVD
I'm surprised at the negative reviews of this film. It's far better than the average and it has some genuinely hilarious moments. Seth Green in particular steals the show as the Best Man of the title's best friend. Watching his character try to sabotage the impending nuptials so his friend can get the girl is really entertaining. and Anna Chancellor puts in an appearance as a neurotic unmarried woman who tries on wedding dresses and keeps a photo of a model on her desk at work as though he was her "husband"
