This is the third anthology put forth by my favorite guitar player, Alvin Lee. The material is not his best but you wouldn't know it by listening to this cd. That's how good this man's art has been over the years. If you never got past Ten Years After - don't bother. However, if you've been fortunate enough to follow this man's career, you're a well traveled fan on that mystical "Road to Freedom" that our hero has so dutifully pursued.
If you don't have any Alvin Lee in your cd collection this anthology gives you a wonderful peek into this man's art. One of Alvin's best songs, "Bluest Blues", a moving piece that features his old neighbor George Harrison belongs in any Best of set, however, Alvin has put it on all three anthologies??? Since I own all three anthologies my only gripe with this last one is the inclusion of songs already on one of the other anthologies. I'd would've loved to have had some material "from the vaults" included - especially live material! Cough up the unreleased material, Alvin!!!
