Having been prompted into looking at this book again by reading the terrible reviews, I thought I ought to write another review to say ... well, I have several sushi books and this is by far the worst! I just get the feeling that to list the "best 50" sushi recipes, the author has simply made a load up. Like fillings for the best 50 sandwiches. Sliced bread to sushi - a lot gets lost in the translation! I can't decide whether or not this trivialisation of what is considered an art in Japan is disrespectful. There is a short and slightly too casual introduction to sushi-bar etiquette, but this book is better for that: The Connoisseur's Guide to Sushi: Everything You Need to Know About Sushi Varieties and Accompaniments, Etiquette and Dining Tips and More
There are several other books that cost a fraction more and are many, many times better. As for it not being a coffee table book, it could be used it under one of the legs to stop it wobbling.
You really won't be missing out by not adding this book to your sushi library.

Although not expensive this Sushi book is a waste of space in my opinion. I guess you get what you pay for. Printed in monochrome and not a picture in sight except on the cover.

This is almost rubbish, no pictures at all, insufficient explanation, ridiculous recipes, etc. Do not waste your money. How dare the author and the publisher sell this kind of book. This book does not deserve being called a book?

For less than four dollars I learn a lot about sushi. Everybody should investigate this book. Regards for the entire sushi fans
