Product Description

Review

Silverman serves up plenty of the daredevil humour for which she is notorious...[a] gleeful insight into the baser instincts of some of America s greatest comic talents. --Independent

Irreverent, funny and sometimes winningly serious. Though Silverman s book provides her customary shock-and-awe humor... it is Silverman s honesty and vunerability that are most surprising. --Los Angeles Times

[Sarah Silverman s] excellent The Bedwetter is recommended even if you aren t that familiar with her television show. Silverman s life is served up for laughs and occasional pathos, as she grows up with a tricky family of characters in New Hampshire, but it s her vicious yet refreshingly unbitchy tongue that lures you in. --Giles Hattersley, The Sunday Times

'Most compelling when she outlines traumas that defined her childhood ... [and] most likeable when genuine rage pokes through her veneer of guileless loquacity ... despite her merry blasphemies, Silverman is on the side of the angels.' --Guardian

Review

"Hilarious memoir...Silverman never shies away from poking fun at her own expense. Though she's best known for sexually explicit jokes, Silverman is able to address more serious subjects in the book without losing her edge, particularly her teenage struggle with depression."--Publishers Weekly (starred review) --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Comedy Marmite 5 July 2011
Format:Hardcover
I love Sarah Silverman but I understand that she is comedy marmite. Nobody seems to sit on the fence, it's either a love or hate affair. Assuming you are looking at this book because you are a fan (and not to use it for fire kindling or toilet paper) I can definitely recommend it.

It is an honest and unabashed account of her life until now. From her childhood struggles with bed wetting and depression to her slow climb in to the not always pleasant comedy industry.

A must for anyone who enjoys her work.

Pretty Good 21 Mar 2011
Format:Hardcover
I liked this book for the most part. I dont know that it revealed anything earth shattering but it was a good read. There was a little too much emphasis on the authors father which became tedious rather than enlightening. That said it still provided enough entertainment to keep me reading.

Good for a fan 29 Jan 2012
By Bash
Format:Paperback
This book had the beginnings of an interesting and funny look into Sarah's life and where she came from.
After you get past the forward, written by herself (how Silverman), you get some funny and interesting bits about her early life and how her life was ruled by her bedwetting. Then there is a mention of how she is finding the book hard to write and you know what it feels it. It feels like there was not enough interesting stuff to write about so it is filled with... filler. So yeah... as a fan it is interesting and funny but really only because I was so eager for it to be funny and interesting.
