5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and blessed 20 Jan. 2013

I am very much enjoying re-discovering the F. Scott Fitzgerald oeuvre through these new illustrated kindle books. This is a fine edition lovingly illustrated with period images, which help bring the novel even more to life than I can remember. Keep 'em coming!

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite average 12 Jun. 2013

Slow and dull reading. Not at all like The Great Gatsby, which I inspired me to read more books by Fitzgerald.

4.0 out of 5 stars I *heart* Fiztgerald 2 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love his writing, the detail, the slight disgust for women and anything that doesnt fit his ideal. I especially love the period details of live on a shoestring wing and pray before he gets the money. I definitely think I was born in the wrong era, because I love the shoes in the 20's and 30's - period.

5.0 out of 5 stars New edition, new insight 23 Jan. 2013
By Jak
Format:Kindle Edition
Until I came across these beautifully illustrated editions of Fitzgerald's novels I didn't realize the degree to which a fresh edition could make re-reading a classic book like a new experience. These editions are like a voyage of re-discovery of Fitzgerald's wonderful novels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good 18 Sept. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really didn't want to like the main characters in this book, but was compelled to follow them to the end. By avoiding the traditional 'comeuppance' for unpleasant shallow people, FS Fitzgerald enhances the opulent, vacant lives they end up surviving.

3.0 out of 5 stars Really long, took me months to get through this ... 12 April 2015

Really long, took me months to get through this and even then I realised I had no idea what the point of this book was. If you're into classics then try it by all means but don't expect any excitement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book Review 10 July 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an old and well known book by a very well known author. Recently released remake of the film has added the appeal to read the book. Very good read.
