The Beatles: Rock Band is a fantastic game that is superbly presented and great fun to play. If you want to buy a set of drums, guitar and microphone to play with other Rock Band games or Guitar Hero 5 then this is the best option because Rock Band: Band in a Box (Wii) appears to always be out of stock and the Guitar Hero: World Tour - Complete Band Game (Wii) is more expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Fun 10 Jan 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Bought the beatles rock band game and was happily playing it with my wii mic and metallica guitar when i came across the beatles rock band value edition (for £50)and having enjoyed singing and strumming one guitar over christmas - great for partys - i just had to buy the full package for the drums and another guitar and mic - even better when friends pop round and very addictive

My niece benefitted from me having 2 copies of the game (see my review of the actual game)

The drums are easier to master than the black wii rock band drum set with the cymbols the Mics just a Mic but the pack does come with a USB expansion port so you can plug in 4 USB devices
- one for the remote guitar control - so you dont have to purchase another wii remote control to go in the guitar (like most guitar hero guitars)
- 2 for Mics or one Mic and another guitar
- One for the drums (they're not wireless)

The only downside is the fender strat guitar will only work with Rock Band games and will NOT work with any Guitar Hero Games

~Hours of fun tho and very very addictive

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased 20 Jan 2010

I bought the value beatles rockband, because I did not see much difference in the more expensive one (other than the bass drum has 'beatles' on it???). I already owned 2 guitars with guitar hero games for the wii and my family love them. I understood that you could not play the wii beatles rock band game withOUT buying the rock band instruments. The set up is different as in; guitar hero you insert the wii controller into the guitar, and on rock band you don't but still have to sync the intruments with a controller. Guitar is wireless though, but the mic and drums are not. We already had another microphone from a wii disney sing it game, which is compatable with this rock band set up. So over Christmas we had the guitar/drums/and two singers. Which is good for the beatles game, as there is a fair amount of harmonies to be sung if you wanted to. My shy husband had to be bound and gagged with the chord from the microphone by boxing day as he completely hogged the mic all Christmas day. For someone who never joins in on any wii games, he did not want to quit....even when the kids said they had had enough! You will all know the words to most songs. But there is deff room for a beatles II game. We bought the wii lego rock band game just after Christmas as the kids were bored of trying to beat eachothers scores to the beatles songs shortly into the new year. It is great to have a wii night in with mates and a social night. I have been caught playing the drums when the kids are at school and I am NO expert and have very little rhythm. - I don't think you get 'booo'd off like in guitar hero when you are rubbish !!!!...LOL

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Fun 31 Dec 2009

My husband and I purchased this set for our children (aged 5 and 8) as a Christmas gift. There is no swearing etc in any of the songs so we can only presume the age limit is due to the technicality of the game. However, both of ours love guitar hero too. We also purchased lego rockband which has a variety of songs on it, including some fairly recent stuff. This item also provides much fun and entertainment when the kids are in bed and we are entertaining ... although alcohol helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun and value 5 Jan 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We bought this for our boys for Xmas and, although I can't claim to have played it a great deal myself, they seem perfectly happy with it. The price seemed to go up and down daily and we eventually got it for about £60, which I consider to be an absolute bargain. OK, so the instruments aren't that high-tech, the drums are a bit tinny when hit, but what do you expect for £60 ? The guitar can be either bass or lead in case you were wondering. I don't think the instruments are wireless, but the whole system seems to be compatible with other similar software. Certainly they are playing Rock band 2 on it.

It is easy to play straight away, especially if you are only going to sing. This is great fun for those that like the Beatles, but it also shows you just how many songs you probably don't know that well !

It's not for the 'purest', but I'd thouroughly recommend it as a starting point and a good family sing-a-long !

5.0 out of 5 stars Family fun 24 Jan 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Excellent game. This can keep young and old captivate for hours. Can be played for fun or used to improve sense of rhythm. As a keen guitarist and bassist, I've mainly been playing the drums (new experience). Day 1 I played for so long (and so badly) I rubbed blisters on both hands. Since then, I've begun to get some idea of drumming, while my son (aged 9) has fun singing and develops his vocal skills and learns more about our heritage at the same time. I feel like I've just scratched the surface and could improve (and have fun) for years. Fortunately, anyone can play at their own level. Like all good games, it's not all progress and sometimes feels like 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. I wonder how Ringo gets on with it!
