Hester lives in Bear Pit Lane - a place that has a very interesting past. It was once the site of a bear pit, where a cruel Mr Kyte kept his performing animals until the day they turned against him and killed him. Hester and Jed decide to visit the bear pit, but Hester hears strange growling noises and vows never to go back. Jed doesn't believe in ghosts, and one nightmare night returns to the bear pit alone where he is turned into a bear by Mr Kyte and made to feel the misery and suffering of the bears. Can Hester break the spell and free Jed from the wicked hands of Mr Kyte?
About the Author
Rebecca Lisle was a part-time teacher in England and New York in the early years of her writing career . She has written many children's books as well as magazine articles. She is a mother of three young sons and runs many writing workshops in and around Bristol.
