This is one of the best beading books I have ever bought (and I have more than a few !), it shows how to make all sorts of flowers using peyote, herringbone and brick stitch, and then variations on each basic design. Gtreat straightforward illustrations and instructions.

This is simply a wonderful book - if you like beaded flowers you'll love this - its also beautiful to look at. It includes many beaded flowers using lots of different stitch techniques (peyote, herringbone etc) with diagrams and text (some easier than others.) Most beaded flowers use seed beads (easily available in lots of colours). Then there are the projects - wow - and also a gallery for inspiration (another wow). There are some very easy projects such as the Flower Bud Braid and Daisy chain (which would suit a beginner) then there are more intermediate/advanced projects such as the Heartsease Necklace, Spring Confetti Brooch and Bramble Cuff. Each type of flower has its own section with basic (and variations). There are daisies, blossoms, pansies, cupped flowers, water lillies, filigree flowers, clematis, tulips, fuschias, daffodils, cornflower, iris, etc etc. If you are an absolute beginner you might find it worthwhile also investing in a basic
'how to do the basic stitches' such as peyote, brick stitch, herringbone etc. - but you will still find flowers and projects in this book you can make and with experience it will grow with you and inspire you. I have found lots of inspiration and made various projects and often look at it - I can honestly say this book is in my top few for value and design - and I have many bead books.

Actually, it's Mrs Maincat writing, known as mumcat2 to anyone who's a UKBeader!
I'm not sure that my husband knew quite what he was letting himself in for when he bought me this lovely book. I must have spent hours working the projects and quickly realising that I could do my own versions and styles of those demonstrated. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and the products of your concentration are truly delightful - tiny and delicate when done with 11s or 15s, or chunky and bright in larger beads. I'm an experienced beader but the book would be just as suitable for someone with limited experience; all is really well explained in words and diagrams.
The final section gives some idea of what can be achieved from the skills learned and is truly beautiful. If you have any aspirations to have a go at seed bead sewing - needle weaving - you won't do better than to start with this inspirational book. I heartily recommend it.
