This book is incredibly well written and provides countless tips and tricks that would take any normal user months to figure out. Things like how to restart the Tracker and Deskbar via the command line and the ability to change directories in the terminal by dragging folders to the terminal window are just two examples of the many useful bits of information that will help you make the most out of the BeOS. There's even a great chapter for introducing users to the bash shell included with Be. Furthermore, the BeOS Bible goes into detail about how to use some applications that are out there for Be right now. While some who have written reviews attack the book for doing this, I think it was a great thing to include. The BeOS is still young and there are a lot of apps out there that people don't know about yet, and this book helps to give a small overview of what they can do and how to get started. As for the book insulting other OS's, this is true, though it's not as prevalent as some would suggest. However, I don't have any problem with this -- anyone who has used the BeOS knows how vastly superior to MacOS and Windows it is, and they deserved to get knocked. Last but not least, the BeOS Bible has taught me more than just information about Be; it contains a wealth of general computing knowledge that is useful beyong the realm of the BeOS. In short, if you have Be, get this book.
