Jim Bradbury covers familiar ground here, with the build-up to the "crisis" of 1066 tat ended Anglo-Saxon England, ending with Hastings and William the Bastard being crowned king. (Hope that doesn't count as a plot-spoiler ...)
<br />It is a readable account and the thing I really liked about this book was the way the author discussed some of disagreements in interpretation and then came to his own conclusions I was especially intrigued by the discussion about whether the "accepted" location for the Battle of Hastings, Senlac Hill, actually fitted with the different sources.
