3.0 out of 5 stars Missing a chapter! 11 May 2005
The first comment to make about this book is that IT'S MISSING A CHAPTER! There were in fact FOUR meetings between Dredd and Batman. Specifically, in order, we had Judgement on Gotham; Vendetta in Gotham, The Ultimate Riddle and Die Laughing. One can only assume that Vendetta.. wasn't included as it wasn't fully painted.
That said, this is still the crossover to end them all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Judge Dredd/Batman 5 April 2006
This book is one of the best crossovers I've seen. Judge Dredd is my favourite comic character, and everyone likes Batman.
The book is divided into three parts, Judgement on Gotham, The Ultimate Riddle and Die Laughing.
The first part sees Dredd's evil nemesis Judge Death use a dimension belt to warp into Gotham and basically kill everyone (long story, Batfans, read Necropolis) and Dredd has to sort it all out.
The second part shows Dredd and Batman warped into a parallel dimension to do battle with mean badasses from across the universe.
Die Laughing, sees the Joker join forces with the Dark Judges... Judge Joker. 'Nuff said! In my opinion the best of the three stories.
The artwork is second to none in all the stories, and across all of the stories the tension between old Stoneyface and Batman is portrayed perfectly. Both stand for justice but have very different opinions on how to achieve that.
As I've said, I bought this as a Dredd fan, but Batman fans like it, and if you're new to Dredd then this is as good an introduction as I can think of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it.. 2 Jun 2005
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a great compilation of the Dredd/Batman crossover series..A selection of short storys that mesh together to give a bigger one..Featuring a allstar line up (Dredd,Batman,AndersonJoker,Death,Scarecrow + Mean Machine to name a few) this graphic novel dosnt dissapoint..Only small gripe is that Vendetta in Gotham is missing which is mentioned in the last chapter of the compilation..but other than that..Great.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best crossovers ever 17 Nov 2004
Including Judgement on Gotham, the book possibly most responsible for the current vogue in character crossovers, this still represents one of the best intercompany crossovers ever. Dredd and Batman perfectly compliement each other, with their mutual loathing of the other's working practices, and the crossovers never seem forced.
Grant and Wagner provide entertaining scripts and are backed up by painted art from some of the best in the business. A must for fans of either character.
