Format:Paperback
This is a great read. Told from the perspective of a white boy born in Mississippi to a black mother, the story takes both entertaining and tragic twists as it holds up a mirror to the society's attitudes to race and appearance. The remarkable turns in Lee's life are convincingly portrayed, and his observations give a surprising perspective on the way people treat each other.

Justifiably short-listed for the Whitbread prize.

Must read 31 Aug 2005
Format:Hardcover
A wonderful study of humanity, with all it's quirks and foibles. Get past the colloquial dialogue and you will laugh out loud at Lee's adventures. If you enjoyed Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre you will love this.
