Product Description

Product Description

Take an average family and chuck them in at the deep end...

The backward Ark is an absorbing insight into the reality of living the tropical cruising dream. Featuring real pirates of the Caribbean, Hurricane Ivan, a stoned Rastafarian Santa and plenty more besides.

With drama, humour and lashings of tropical spice, this book will appeal to anyone who has ever looked out of the office window on a cold, grey day, wishing they could escape. As you'll discover, a surprising number of people already have.

Including much that goes beyond the interests of the cruising sailor, The Backward Ark is not a book about boats, It's about bringing a dream to life while trying to navigate the stormy peaks and troughs that inevitably accompany living on the edge.

5.0 out of 5 stars I thoroughly enjoyed this kindle edition 11 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thoroughly enjoyed this kindle edition, especially as I got it for free! Thanks to Carl for a thrilling, interesting and educating story. At first I couldn't figure out if it was fact or fiction... So well detailed, and with images of places I've only imagined, I wish I too could travel so far afar. The only real problem I've got with the version I read, is the constant spelling mistakes of obvious words, and the nautical terms with no explanation. Being on the kindle meant I would have to log into google to search, and then return to the story, which I didn't bother doing. I made up what I didn't understand, using context to make sense of it. Hopefully the story ends well?
