I bought "The Baby's Catalogue" for my 16-month old daughter, Ruby. She loves to point at her favourite everyday things pictured in the book like the radio; the baby sitting on the potty examining his belly-button; the washing machine and the guinea pig (she even makes guinea pig 'squeaks' now when she sees the picture!). I like the way the book consists mainly of illustrations - it means that I can describe these pictures to Ruby in my own way. I also like how variations of the same object are pictured. Ruby points out which teapot or pram she likes. I pointed at the pram with two babies inside and asked, "Would Ruby like two babies?" and she quickly replied, "No!"! I find the pictures so charming and familiar. "The Baby's Catalogue" is a beautifully quaint book and it appears that there has been a lot of thought behind it's layout. It is a lot of fun!

When we were given this book by our neighbour we were surprised that there was no written story to it, but its a fantastic book and it gets you talking with your child. our little one is coming up for 20 months and hasn't put this down for the last 12 months! So many objects/situations/colours/animals and move of all babies, children and mummy's and daddy's - you just cannot run out of things to talk about and it learnt us that you do not necessarily need a story to follow, children are just so happy with you talking to them.

Lots to point at! 3 Dec 2005
By A Customer
Format:Board book
My son loves this book. There are pages of illustrations grouped by theme but containing characters from the same 5 families. Each page has lots of things he can point at and that i can describe to him. There are lots of everday things and situations to recognise from getting up in the morning, eating, playing, people and places.
