THE WONDERFUL NEW NOVEL FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE ACCIDENTAL MOTHER ...

Product Description

All good things come in the little packages...

Meet The Baby Group: Natalie ran her own design company until baby Freddie unexpectedly came along. Now the capable person she once was is trapped inside a crazy woman's body, longing for just one decent night's sleep and words of more than one syllable. Meg is onto her fourth child but still feels she has to take notes. Meg's sister-in-law Frances organises her little boy like he's a private in the army, but underneath her prickly façade she longs for the kind of friendships others seem to find so easy. Former career girl Jess sees danger lurking in every corner, doubting she'll ever be a good mother. Stay-at-home house-husband Steve is just glad to have the opportunity to spend time with his daughter. And sixteen-year-old Tiffany is the youngest - yet possibly the wisest - of them all.

Six very different parents. Six very different lives. But when Natalie's dodgy wiring leads to a series of chance encounters they rapidly discover - through Baby Music, Baby Aerobics, coffee and more importantly cake - that there's safety in numbers. And their own unofficial baby group is formed ...

A Truely Fab Read! 4 Sep 2007
Format:Paperback
When I chose this book, I was a little unsure as to whether I would enjoy it. There are 6 members to the baby group that you would never in a million years put together, but that's the beauty of it. In the beginning it can be a little confusing getting to know all the characters, however once you no them it's a truly fab read.
I read this book on holiday and since this book I have been addicted to reading. Its light entertainment that made me laugh a number of times.

This is a very good read about a group of parents with interestingly different backgrounds, who had one thing in common, babies. I did not like Natalie, the main character, very much to start with. She seemed shallow, and her compulsive lies, generally wanton behaviour and passion for cake were not to my taste. However, I grew to like her - she proved very supportive to her much younger teenage friend who was also in the group and she also seemed quite optimistic and fortunate somehow in spite of everything.

The ending was more suited to a Mills & Boon story in that it was simply too good to be true, but sweet all the same.

Mothers of young children will relate to the characters and enjoy this book.

After initially being put off by the front cover, I eventually gave this book a go. I am glad I did. It says the word `baby' on the front but it wasn't about babies. It is about a group of people who are united by the simple fact they all have babies and the dramas that each are facing in their lives. I really liked the book. I raced through it as I couldn't wait to see what happened. I thought I guessed the ending for Natalie, but Rowan provides a few twists and turns so you are never really sure. If you want a warm, engaging, often funny book then you'll really enjoy this. You don't even have to have a baby to read it.
