About the Author

Adam Dachis is a senior writer and art director at Lifehacker and one of the most frequently read authors online. His work is also featured on blogs such as Gizmodo, Gawker and Jezebel, as well as in Popular Science magazine. He covers a variety of topics, from technology to popular psychology. Erica Elson's articles have been published in Gawker and film reviews in Ioncinema. She's worked every odd job in the book, encountering many awkward situations along the way that inform her writing. Erica's conquered smelly bosses, de-motivational speeches, silent dates and the seemingly impossible art of interesting small talk.

SO random and relevant! 8 April 2014

Adam and Erica seem to have experienced most awkward thing people can experience. The advice in this book is really good and goes deeper than I realized it would. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an interesting read.

For the freshly minted adult 26 May 2014
By LeslieKM - Published on Amazon.com

I was hoping for something a little bit more applicable to my age, but found this to really be written for college age or recent college grads. Honestly I was disappointed. They never explain some if the more tricky things, like keeping somebody with no boundaries in check, but resorted to explaining how to gracefully deal with saying I love you too early, which was just to talk with the person about it. After 20 years of being an adult akward person, I was really looking for help dealing with people who can't have an honest and open discussion for whatever reason, and this book offered absolutely no help in that arena.
Just buy it! 7 Dec. 2014

Bought for a friend, and I'm thinking about buying one for myself. I read the first chapter and found it to be pretty funny. It also had some tips that are useful, awkward or not. The person receiving the gift loved it and put the tips to use nearly immediately. Regardless of whether you need the tips, it's a funny read, and it's even inexpensive to boot! Bottom line: buy it and enjoy.

Hysterical in the first two minutes! 19 April 2014
By rose lebewitz - Published on Amazon.com

Picking up the book to read for the first time, with no background knowledge of the content, I started reading in a serious mood. "Oh" I said, "this is going to be a good situational advice book" and prepared for and educational chapter. Within three sentences I was laughing out loud and flipping through the other chapters to see what else would be popping up. Then I read one short chapter and had that feeling that I want to salvage the enjoyment of this book out as long as I can. Now I allow myself a chapter a day, hoping the sequel with soon be in the writing stages. Whatever time I read my chapter, it brightens the moment and the advice is "right on", too.
There is something in this book for everyone and I highly recommend it.

Fun to read, interesting to analyze. Awesome to realize I'm not the only one who has crazy awkward things happen around me.
