I have an orginal copy of this book and i assume the reprint has not been edited in anyway. Mrs Lewis lived through the Welsh Revival and therefore you are getting firsthand accounts of facts from someone who lived through it. In 1906 Evan Roberts had a breakdown (neglect of the bodies needs)and Mrs Lewis took Evan Roberts into her home for several years. So she was able to ask him about his experiences and get the facts etc.

She mentions about the different stream leading up to the 1904 revival and has to include herself in it and the conenction to the Welsh Keswick.

Other revival books:
Revival Fires and Awakenings: Thirty-six Visitations of the Holy Spirit - a Call to Holiness, Prayer and Intercession for the Nations

Revival and the Great Commission: Thirty-six Revivals from the Mission Field

Understanding Revival and Addressing the Issues it Provokes: So That We Can Intelligently Cooperate with the Holy Spirit During Times of Revivals and Awakenings ... Physical Phenomena or Manifestations

Good Overview 27 Jan 2012

Not what you might be expecting.
It's a good introduction to the Welsh 1904 Revival. The lead up to it, how certain key players were positioned, some of the events that took place and a conclusion of what important things took place to enable the Holy Spirit to work.
I found it a very interesting read, and there are plenty of clues in the book as to what we can do now.

This is a well presented small book that is quick to read.
Since Jessie Penn Lewis was a close acquaintance of Evan Roberts, one of the Revival leaders, I had hoped for more insight into the reasons for what happened and into the interaction between the people involved.
There is little specific detail and it is generally rather superficial. It is useful for a general view of that time.
