4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Read for Beginner to Intermediate Marketers (Pros & Cons Inside) 27 Oct. 2014
By Marty Labrado - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an easy read and a wonderful book on establishing a marketing mindset. The author starts off with bold statements and figuratively hits you upside the head. This stuck with me because you don’t get that in a lot of marketing books; they usually dive right into the material. There’s nothing wrong with this approach. David Bame Jr.’s approach just puts you into a mindset that helps you learn the information in the book in a more effective way.

Pros:

Very Easy read. The chapters are short and to the point.

It’s written in such a way that keeps you going with good and interesting examples.

Cons [Kind of]:

A little more than half the book is written by other people about their own experiences. Some of these people have used their short chapters as nothing more than a pitch for their marketing services which is a bit ironic considering you bought a book on how to do a bit of marketing BY YOURSELF.

Now with that said, there are some interesting reads and you can use this section as inspiration. If these people started from nothing and got to where they are now, then you can do the same. These short biographies can be used as an idea generator for your business and as motivation.

If you’re an avid read then the grammatical errors will bug you. There isn’t a ton but just enough to mention it the review. David Bame Jr. if you’re reading this, please get this book edited.

What should you do?

Buy the book. It’s a great lesson in marketing as well as mindset. Even if you’re a seasoned marketer you might find a hidden gem that could boost your business.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Information 22 Sept. 2014

Good info on creating that book you need to get started as an expert. But unfortunately the last 75 pages are padded with example after example of "successful experts" their stories and businesses.

3.0 out of 5 stars first part is good but stops too abruptly 21 Oct. 2014
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked the first part of this book. But then it stops all too soon and goes into various bios which is disappointing. The author should have developed his own work more because it was going well.

2.0 out of 5 stars just read the preview 21 Nov. 2014

Well, it started out with some good points, which you could get from the preview. But when I bought it and tried to read further it quickly got repetitive and I got bored and did not finish.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but know what you're getting. 29 Sept. 2014

This is a useful text. It explains in clear detail the path toward developing the proper mindset of an authority figure.

However, I have to agree with other reviewers who said that the group biography in the latter part of the book simply wasn't useful. Instead of using the biographies to show how these individuals developed the Authority Mindset it was merely a mish-mash of "here are some experts". By including these semi-interesting biographies the author diluted the impact of his book. To make matters worse the biographies really weren't all that interesting and I skimmed most of them.
