My goodness, what a bargain! Practically every page is furnished with flowers that smile and laugh at you, many with their coquettish faces all powdered with farina; as though they have just put down and hidden away their compacts, and they are ready, prepared to go to the ball --with you!
The 'Little Light Botany' chapter really is a lovely, light and easy wee lesson: It is Biology made simple, such that it might happily and safely be used as a light biology lesson on reproduction anywhere, and with anyone.
Excellent chapters on Cultivation; an explanation of Varieties, and one on Exhibiting, and much, much more make this a very worthwhile book to own.
We are indebted to Mr Guest for the untold hours he gave to producing what is undoubtedly a superb book and a remarkable labour of love.
